The Standard Collection

Built for one denomination.
Perfected for it.

Each standard case is purpose-built for a single Australian decimal denomination — precision-fitted foam, archival protection, and the full face of your collection visible at all times. The focused collector’s choice.

Why Serious Collectors Choose This

Most cases store coins.
Few protect them.

The difference between a $20 case and a Thomas Anne case is not aesthetic. It is functional. Cheap cases damage what they claim to protect — through loose recesses, reactive materials, and hardware that fails within years.

A collection built over decades deserves better than a drawer. It deserves an environment engineered for the long term — archival foam, inert materials, brass hardware built to last, and a case that treats every coin as the object it is.

Problem 01

Loose recesses cause movement — movement causes damage.

Standard cases use approximate sizing. Coins shift. Over time that movement creates micro-scratches on the obverse and reverse that permanently reduce grade.

◆ Thomas Anne foam is precision-cut to each denomination's exact diameter
Problem 02

Synthetic linings trap moisture and off-gas reactive compounds.

PVC-based materials are common in cheap coin storage. PVC off-gases compounds that react with copper and silver surfaces — producing irreversible toning and surface damage.

◆ Thomas Anne uses archival-grade, inert foam throughout
Problem 03

Cheap hardware fails. When it does, so does the case.

Plated hinges and latches corrode, seize, or strip within years of regular use. A case that cannot be opened properly is a liability, not a home.

◆ Thomas Anne uses solid brass locks and hinges chosen for permanence

About the Collection

Handcrafted Coin Display Cases for the Australian Decimal Collector

Every Thomas Anne case is built to a single standard — that a collection spent years assembling deserves an environment of equal dignity. Each case is made to order in South Australia from sustainably sourced hardwood, finished in a deep walnut satin and fitted with brass hardware chosen for permanence rather than ornamentation. The Leviathan additionally features a precision-routed acrylic retention panel in the lid.

Our range currently covers key denominations of the Australian decimal coin series in both flat display and vertical storage formats. Each case is precision-fitted with archival foam recesses, holding every coin securely while keeping the full face of the collection visible at all times. The range continues to expand.

For the collector building a complete decimal run, or preserving a lifetime of commemoratives, Thomas Anne cases provide the archival protection and presentation quality the collection has earned. Every order includes the Thomas Anne founders’ introduction letter, printed on fine stock and signed by hand.
