Thomas Anne Collectibles: Who We Are
A South Australian manufacturer of handcrafted timber coin display cases, purpose-built for the Australian decimal collector.
Thomas Anne Collectibles is a South Australian manufacturer of handcrafted timber coin display cases, founded by Bradley Thomas and Cristy-Anne in 2023, and made to order in South Australia.
What Thomas Anne Collectibles Is
Thomas Anne Collectibles designs and produces premium timber coin display cases for collectors of Australian decimal coinage. The business was established in South Australia in 2023 by Bradley Thomas and Cristy-Anne — a husband and wife partnership whose business name combines their middle names: Thomas and Anne.
All Thomas Anne cases are made to order. No cases are manufactured in advance or warehoused as stock. Each case is built when ordered, quality-checked against the Thomas Anne standard, and dispatched with the founders’ hand-signed introduction letter, cotton inspection gloves, and a microfibre cloth.
Thomas Anne cases are constructed from Mahogany Family Hardwood, fitted with solid brass locks and hinges, and lined with precision-cut archival-grade inert foam recesses sized to the exact capsule dimensions of the denomination ordered. The laser engraving on the lid is performed using a process called paint ablation — removing paint from a pre-painted timber surface to reveal the wood beneath — producing sharp, permanent designs without burning or charring the timber surface.
Thomas Anne Collectibles sells directly to collectors through its website at thomasannecollectibles.com.au. The business does not sell through third-party retailers or marketplaces.
Bradley Thomas & Cristy-Anne
Bradley Thomas
Bradley is a collector himself. Thomas Anne began because he could not find a display case worthy of his own Australian decimal coin collection — everything available was either too generic to care about or too cheap to trust. He built one. The business grew from that single conviction: that a collection assembled over years deserves an environment of equal care and dignity.
Cristy-Anne
Cristy-Anne brought the understanding that the way something is presented is part of what it means — that the case is not merely a container but a statement about how the collection inside is regarded. The Thomas Anne approach to presentation, correspondence, and the founders’ introduction letter are expressions of her sensibility as much as Bradley’s.
The Product Range
Thomas Anne currently produces four standard case configurations for Australian $1 and $2 decimal coins, plus the Leviathan grand archive structure. Additionally, silver decimal variants are expected in the very near future. Each case in the standard range retails at $45-$65 AUD. The Leviathan retails at $249 AUD public price, with a waitlist price available to collectors who reserved early.
The standard range includes the Australian $1 Display Case — a 24-slot flat display for the $1 series — and the Australian $1 Storage Case — a 50-slot vertical storage format. The equivalent configurations exist for the $2 series: the Australian $2 Display Case in 25-slot flat format, and the Australian $2 Storage Case in 50-slot vertical format. A Coat of Arms variant is available for each standard case at $75 to $85 AUD depending on configuration.
The Leviathan is a grand archive structure measuring 36cm × 28cm × 8cm, accommodating up to 200 coins across four independently configurable coin inserts. Each insert can be specified by denomination, allowing a collector to configure the Leviathan for a mixed decimal collection. The Leviathan features a precision-routed acrylic retention panel in the lid that holds display inserts securely while maintaining full visibility of the collection through the closed case.
Every Thomas Anne case is measured against a single question before it leaves our hands: would we accept this case for our own collection? This is not a quality assurance checklist — it is a personal standard that admits no exceptions. A case that does not meet this standard is remade, not shipped.
This standard extends to every element of the Thomas Anne offering — the correspondence, the letter, the packaging, the response to every enquiry. We believe that a collector who has spent years building a collection deserves to receive something made with equal care. That belief is the entirety of our quality programme.
Every Thomas Anne case includes a founders’ introduction letter — printed on fine stock and signed by hand by both Bradley and Cristy-Anne — because we believe the person opening this case for the first time deserves a moment of welcome. The letter is not a marketing insert. It is the beginning of a relationship with the collector who receives it.
A collection is not simply an accumulation of objects. It is a record of patience, of pursuit, and of personal history. The coins in a Thomas Anne case were gathered over years — sometimes decades — by a person who learned to see what others passed over, who developed the instinct for what was worth keeping, and who built something that matters.
We build cases for that collection. Not for coins in the abstract — for the specific collection of the specific person who orders from us. That distinction is everything about how we work.
